Current Lab Members

Our lab members are at the core of what makes Neurocognitive and Behavioral Development Lab run smoothly. We take pride in the diversity of our staff, with each member contributing their unique skills to the projects we are working on.

Hanna Gemmell, B.S.

Research Coordinator

Hanna Gemmell graduated in 2023 with a B.S. in Psychology. As a research coordinator for the NBDL, she coordinates multiple studies working with autistic adults. She gained an interest is ASD research after completing a Capstone project on how law enforcement officers are trained on ASD. After her time working with Dr. Wang, Hanna plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Forensic Psychology. Following her completion of a Ph.D., she hopes to work within criminal justice systems and continue to advocate for proper ASD training within the legal system.

Ellen Parks, B.S.

Research Coordinator

Ellen Parks graduated in 2025 with a B.S. in Psychology, with an emphasis in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. As a research coordinator for the NBDL, she coordinates multiple studies working with autistic adults. During her time in the lab, she hopes to gain more experience working with ASD and explore future research endeavors. After her time working with Dr. Wang, Ellen plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in the neuropathology of neurodevelopmental disorders. Following her completion of a Ph.D., she hopes to work in the clinical field helping underserved communities.

Hang (Frankie) Qu, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Hang Qu earned her PhD in Biomechanics and Motor Control from Iowa State University. Her research focuses on gait and movement analysis in aging adults with ASD, with a broader interest in balance impairments and neurodegenerative conditions. She has expertise in modeling, movement analysis, EEG, fatigue, and muscular function. Beyond research, she enjoys skiing, tennis, badminton, and traveling with her family. She is also a pianist and a student pilot in training.

Dani Christensen

Dani Christensen, B.S.

PhD Candidate

Dani (Danielle) Christensen graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2022 with a B.S. in Psychology. As a graduate student in Dr. Wang's lab, she aids in various research tasks such as data analysis and post-processing, literature reviews, and publications for large scale studies regarding aging processes in autism. Dani's goals are to complete a PhD in Biobehavioral Science and help contribute to furthering the study of ASD.

Anna Seelhammer

Undergraduate Volunteer

Anna Seelhammer is an undergraduate student majoring in nutritional sciences and minoring in disabilities in society and health disparities. After finishing her undergraduate studies, Anna plans to attend medical school and become a pediatrician. She is volunteering with the lab to learn more about the intersection of ASD and Parkinson's disease. Anna's research interests include ASD, health inequities, disabilities, and nutrition.

Kyla Weatherington

Undergraduate Volunteer

Kyla Weatherington is currently pursuing a B.S. in applied physiology and kinesiology with a minor in nutrition. After completing her undergraduate studies, she plans on going to medical school to study orthopedic medicine. Kyla has been working with the NBD lab for over a year on various tasks such as processing 3D motion capture gait trials and force transducer data. She also supervises and trains new undergraduate volunteers.
